temptation

Well, in other news I've finally given in to temptation and ordered a Fujifilm X100 with the LH-X100 lenshood, Gordy's leather wrist strap and a couple of eBay batteries. The X100 should arrive early next week, but the lens hood is backordered so not sure when I'll get that...

Anyway, watch this space for thoughts and images from the little Fuji!

Here's a shot of more or less the set-up I've ordered.

It's Tasmania mate...

The Western Arthur Range in Tasmania's Southwest National Park, doing their best impression of the New Zealand Alps...

GH2 and Voigtlander Nokton 25mm @ f5.6 I think, and iso640 (no tripod...). The Nokton's centre sharpness at anything over f2 is simply stunning!

A day at the beach

Life guard's tower at a beach to the west of Helsinki, Finland. Yes, that is a beach...

EP1 and 17/f2.8

Down the alley

My 'local', Teresa, down an alley in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia.

EP1 and 17/f2.8 @ f2/8 and 1600iso.

Fly like the wind...

There's nothing like skating in Finland for the first time to put you in your place... There were 8 year olds who skated better than I walk.

EP1 and 14-42 MkI - this was the first time I used Micro Four Thirds extensively.

Inverse

An inverted view of an image I posted before - The Minotaur reflected in a tarn, Pine Valley, Tasmania.

GH2 and m.ZD 40-150 MSC.

Unexpected stars

And unexpected talent of the already multi-talented Nokton 25mm - when stopped down to about f5.6, it produces gorgeously defined 10-point starbursts.

DoF

A minimum focussing distance of sweet-bugger-all and f0.95 makes for quite the skinny depth of field machine.

GH2 and Nokton 25mm f0.95 @ f0.95

Slooooooow....

Long exposure in Pine Valley, Tasmania.

GH2 and 7-14/f4 ASPH - it's for shots like these that the lack of a filter thread on the 7-14 is frustrating; to get movement in the water the lens had to be stopped down to f13, which is borderline diffraction territory on m43... Still, the UWA continues to amaze, especially as a tripod weapon.

Cold!

-6 on the Tasmanian Central Plateau - winter is here!

GH2 and the increasingly delightful 14/f2.5 ASPH
